MER / blended ROAS calculator
Platform ROAS lives inside Meta or Google. MER (also called blended ROAS here) uses payment revenue and total ad spend. It is the efficiency number that survives a Stripe check.
Use the same date range for both. Include Meta + Google (+ others) in spend. Use processor revenue, not summed platform purchase values.
Enter payment revenue and ad spend to see your MER.
Illustrative only. This is not platform ROAS and not multi-touch attribution. It does not say which ad caused which order.
MER vs platform ROAS
Platform ROAS is the revenue a platform credits to its own ads, divided by what you spent there. It is useful for comparing campaigns inside Meta, or inside Google.
MER takes one revenue number from the payment processor and divides it by all your paid spend. Each sale is counted once, however many platforms touched it. That is why we treat it the same as blended ROAS.
Some blogs flip MER to spend ÷ revenue. On Thexly it is always payment revenue ÷ ad spend, so higher is better.
MER will not tell you which campaign to scale. Use platform ROAS for that, and MER to check the whole account is paying off.
Why agencies care when a client opens Stripe
Clients rarely open Ads Manager. They do open Stripe. If your slide says 5x ROAS and their revenue for the month barely covers spend, the conversation stops being about ads.
MER is a number they can check with their own dashboard and a calculator. That makes it easier to defend.
What counts as a good MER depends on margin. To find the floor for a client, try the break-even ROAS calculator. Longer read: Blended ROAS and MER vs platform ROAS.
