Comparison
A Cometly alternative for ecommerce agencies
Here's a question ecommerce clients put to their agency in some form. "We spent €100k on Meta and Google. Which ads produced the €300k that hit our bank?" (A framing example, not a client result.)
If your agency runs paid for ecommerce brands on Stripe checkout and you've looked at Cometly, you may have seen that Cometly builds for a different kind of client. This page says what Cometly says about that, where Cometly is the stronger pick, and where Thexly fits. Every competitor fact links to the page we read it on, as of 7 October 2026.
What Cometly says about ecommerce agencies
On its Agency Partner Program page, under best-fit clients, Cometly writes:
"Not a fit: e-commerce-only agencies. Cometly is built for subscription & pipeline revenue."
Source: https://www.cometly.com/agency-partners (fetched 2026-10-07)
Its Triple Whale comparison says the same thing from the other side. Asked "Does Cometly work for D2C / ecommerce?", Cometly answers that it is "built and positioned for B2B SaaS attribution" and that "a D2C-specialist tool will be a better fit" for some ecommerce needs (cometly.com/triple-whale-alternative, fetched 2026-10-07).
To be fair to Cometly, its integrations page still lists Shopify and WooCommerce connections (cometly.com/integrations, fetched 2026-10-07). The "not a fit" line is about the agencies it wants as partners, and where it is putting its product.
Two tools, two jobs
Cometly is marketing attribution built for B2B SaaS. It ties ads to CRM pipeline, Stripe subscription revenue, and sends conversions back to the ad platforms through its Conversion API (triple-whale-alternative, conversion-sync).
Thexly is payment-verified client reporting for agencies whose clients are ecommerce brands on Stripe checkout. One script on each client site picks up the ad click IDs. Thexly matches each payment in the client's processor back to the visit and click that led to it, counts it once, and puts it in a live link the client can open (docs, faq).
Thexly does not do CAPI, conversion upload, or passback. It does not pull spend or ROAS from the Meta or Google Ads APIs. You bring spend from the client's ad accounts. (ad-tracking-software, agency-live-payment-verified-reporting)

When Cometly is the better fit
Pick Cometly if your clients are B2B SaaS or tech companies with a sales cycle in a CRM. Its HubSpot and Salesforce sync, pipeline reporting and multi-touch models are built for that.
Pick Cometly if you need conversions fed back to Meta, Google and the other networks. Its Conversion API is a core part of the product, and Thexly doesn't do it.
Pick Cometly if you want ad spend pulled in from the ad accounts and want to manage ads from the same screen.
When Thexly fits
Your clients are ecommerce brands on Stripe checkout.
Your hardest client meeting is the one where they open their bank or Stripe and ask why the ad reports add up to more. You want a number they can check, each sale counted once, and a live link instead of a monthly PDF.
You're fine exporting spend from Ads Manager and Google Ads yourself. Thexly handles the payment side.
If a client's checkout runs on something Thexly doesn't connect to, or the sale happens on a call or a lead form, Thexly isn't the right tool for that client yet.
Try it on one client first
You don't have to move a whole book to find out. Put Thexly on one client, connect their Stripe with a read-only key, and compare what Meta and Google each report against the payments collected for the same dates.
Want a rough number before you install anything? The platform vs payment gap calculator does the math from three numbers.
