Platform claims vs payment collected

Both ad platforms can claim the same order. Your processor only sees the money once. Plug in three numbers for the same date range (e.g. last 30 days).

Why the gap shows up

Someone clicks a Meta ad, comes back a few days later through a Google search, and buys. Both platforms can count that sale. Each one reports its own view, and neither checks with the other.

Other things widen the gap. Browsers and privacy settings drop some tracking signals, so platforms fill in with modeled conversions. Attribution windows differ too, so a 7-day click on one platform and a 30-day click on another will not line up with a calendar month in Stripe.

None of that means the ads are not working. It means platform revenue and payment revenue answer different questions.

What not to do

Do not add Meta revenue to Google revenue and call it the client's ROAS. The sum can count one sale twice, and the client can open their processor dashboard and see the money is not there.

Use platform numbers to compare campaigns inside each platform. Use payment collected when you report what the client earned. For the efficiency number, try the MER calculator.

What Thexly is for

Doing this by hand once is fine. Doing it every month, for every client, in a spreadsheet, is where it breaks.

Thexly is built for agencies. It connects to each client's payment processor and reconciles ad-driven sales to the revenue that actually cleared, live, with a share link for the client. See how it works for agencies, check pricing, or start free.
